Meet Pam Smith – a local historian and retired genealogy expert, with a passion for unearthing and documenting historical moments and the untold stories of Rillington, and bringing its past to you.
Her achievements include a Higher Certificate and Diploma in Genealogy from IHGS, Canterbury, and an Advanced Diploma in Local History from the University of Oxford.

Explore Rillington
Rillington is a village in North Yorkshire, with a population of 1,205 recorded in the 2021 census and is situated on the busy A64 between York and Scarborough. It is bound on the north by the River Derwent. Before 1974, it was situated on the border of the East and North Ridings of Yorkshire. Rillington sits in a peaceful position at the northern edge of the Yorkshire Wolds where it is underpinned by glacial deposits from the former Lake Pickering, which still offers a rich and fertile rural landscape with a resultant fully functioning farming community.
